This piece is about the feeling of flying, either being a flying creature or using wind magic to fly and become one with the wind. The harmonies alternate between high and low, weaving around each other as wind does.
Composer’s Comment: The most difficult section of this piece is actually the beginning, which attempts to suggest gentle wind through a series of gentle tones that fade in and out in a very challenging alternation.
Lyrics
For you are the wind and the wind is you
You are the sky so clear and blue
And you never will find a peace so true
As soaring the sky with no one
Soaring the sky with no one
Soaring the sky with no one
And nothing but-
For I am the wind and the wind is me
Nothing but air, no land nor sea
And nothing alive could be so free
As I in the sky with no one
I in the sky with no one
I in the sky with no one
And nothing but
You are the wind and the wind is you
You are the sky so clear and blue
And you never will find a peace so true
As soaring the sky with no one
Soaring the sky with no one
Soaring the sky with no one
And nothing but you.
